A pair of my Farquharsons going to Dallas with me in the morning. The rifle in the front is my donation to the Club this year. It's in .303 British and is going to the high spender at the auctions. The wood was donated be Mr. Freeman of Luxus walnut. HARD piece of wood. Good stuff. The rifle shoots very nice. rear sight has two folding leaf blades.

The rifle in the rear is a little .22 hornet. Weighs a sveldt 5 1/4 lbs. Full coverage English scroll engraving on the action, forend escutcheon, grip cap and heel and toe plates. I used a martini style extractor on this one and it works very well. Fun little guy to hurl lead down range with. VERY accurate too.

Hope you enjoy them.

Bailey, what you have done with the trigger guard and trigger on the .303 is close, very close, to the perfection of the Gibbs.

It's a function of multiple, and complex, compound curves, and is truly graceful, and utter perfection, when achieved.

It's what the most graceful of the Gibbs-Farquharsons managed to capture.

Keep on in that direction, if I may offer a humble suggestion.

Terrific job on both of these ones, Bailey.

Were you experimenting with the Martini style extractor, or do you think it's an improvement over the Gibbs style and will make a design change to your action going forward?

Ian

Mine is nearly finished, by the way, and I like the rifle it's turning in to.

Ian,

I was playing with the design. I don't consider it an improvement over the Gibbs. It works just fine, but not any better and a little more work to tune.

Please post some pictures of your rifle. I'm anxious to see it.

The little .22 hornet is still available. Feel free to contact me for details.

Thanks!!

I can tell you that the rifles are even better looking in person than in the photos. Both rifles were just awsome, but the hornet is just spectacular.
