OLBIKERThat stock is strange!!!!

Rick RIMHO the full stock is a bit much but the standard stock is pretty sweet looking:
I'd like to hear from someone who's actually shot an Effect.

Cliff LyleThanks for the photo help Charles.
I have become quite fond of the 2 piece full stock. My Blaser K95 had one and what it may not provide in the photo is how nice it feels in the hand and how well balanced it is. At least the K95 is that way.

Rick,
I recently bought an Effect in .30-06. Nice, well made little rifle! As is, it weighs 5lb 14 oz. Scoped with a 3x Leupold, it's 6lb 13oz. Recoil is far more tolerable than I anticipated; not bad at all! I've only tried Remington factory ammo. 165gr Core-Lokts print 3-shot 1-1/4" groups at 100yds. It didn't like the Rem 180's at all. I finally got some dies and components, and will start experimenting. Overall, I like the rifle. The factory scope mounts, have way too many parts, and 14 screws. Hope to simplify that somehow. The scope mount dovetail on the receiver, is unlike any other CZ guns, unfortunately.

Cliff LyleI'm going to buy one of the new FS models in 308, when I can find one and will report on it when I can.

Rick RJeff,
Thanks for the report, any chance of some pictures of mount and rings?

Cliff,
I think Impact Guns has the fullstock rifles in stock.

ACRecurveI'm working on a trade for one of these, but not the full stock model. Will post info if all goes well.
Good hunting,
Andy

Jeff, I checked online there today and it appears they can be ordered but are not in stock. That's okay though as I have plenty of Christmas bills, taxes and other crap to pay for.

I rode up to Impact Guns today to look at the 06' I thought it was very nice, fit me ok. The forehand was a bit small for me ( I have long fingers), but I really liked the stock design. I probably would have bought if it was the .308. It was the one listed on the web site was excellent to perfect condition. It was owned by the owner of impact (according to the salesman). It was the only BRNO they had.

akjeffThey're pretty cool little rifles. At first, I thought the '06 would be a little too much, in such a light little package. Apparently the stock design works, as it's a pussycat. Much as I like it, I'm seriously contemplating taking a shot at machining up a monoblock, and re-barrel it in 7x65R. I just don't like rimless extractors in break action guns.

Cliff LyleSounds good Jeff. Keep us posted on your progress. I would expect that 2010 will find me the owner of the FS model in 308. Does the stock have any cast to it? A cast off stock is really problematic to left handed shooters.

richjThat is very interesting. If/when barrels are available I'll snap one up.

ACRecurveIf barrels become available, then I'll have to invest in some really nice wood for mine!

akjeffNo cast in my stock that's readily apparent, though I haven't put a straight edge on it, to say for sure.
So far as I know, the only extra barrels available from the factory, is a 20ga shot barrel. Which is why I'm looking into doing my own thing. Be just my luck, when I get about half way through the project, they'll start importing the Euro chambers into the US!

MickinColoA Roman nose butt-stock just doesn’t look right on a modern rifle.
