Weight of same caliber 1V and a 1B
It appears that Ruger could be correct in their statment that the 1V is one pound heavier than a 1B. Does anyone own a 26" barreled 1B and a 24" barreled 1V in same caliber, and have they weighed them?
I am considering a #1 in 25-06 for target and possibly deer hunting but I don't want to pack anymore weight than I have too. Comments welcome.

I own a 1V in 25/06 and finally worked up loads that are 1 hole at 100 yards 3700 fps using sierra 100gr spitzers. The secret was first finding the highest and tighest powder weight then finetuning the bullet seating depth in the thousands range to get the accuracy. My load is gun specific so further details could be way off for you.

I would go with the 1V for accuracy you will be more happy with it. If you want a lighter gun get something like a H and R or equilivent.
