yellowstoneMore Ruger promises?
Some of you may have read the latest Safari Magazine. Boddington just reported on a #1 Tropical (serial #1?) that he used to kill a cape buffalo. Caliber? 450-400-3" aka 400 Jeffry. I WANT ONE!!! Looks like we can wait another year since this seems to be Ruger's modus operandi. Remember how long it took for the .416 Rigby to hit the market after it was announced. Any other information out there guys? Any comments, besided rebarrelling?

nordrsetaEven when Ruger makes good on their promises the other problem with recent Ruger No.1 rifles is that they come with stubby barrels. A No.1 fairly screams for a 26-28 inch tube. Rebarreling will let you skip one problem and avoid the other.

Alberta CanuckI sure hope I live long enough to get one of those Ruger .400 Jeffrey's!! And I hope it does not come with a heavy barrel, and that the barrel is 24" or at most 25" long. A nice set of open sights with a shallow "V" rear and a big front bead would be nice too, while I'm wishing. That and a factory No. 1-S in .30-40 Krag would make my life complete.
Thanks for the head's up, Yellowstone.
