Lefty,

Congratulations, I think. [Wink] You're the only person I know who has ever admitted owning one of these.
Do you have to cock the hammer, or does the hammer get cocked upon dropping the falling block?

How are you going to shoot that thing when it's stocked for a righty?

George,
I'd like to have a dozen of them, if they all shoot like my "varminteer" pistol. It has averaged in the .4's with preferred loads.
After I wring it out and then if I decide to keep it, I'll modify the stock to keep the rollover from being sharp on my cheek. One of the prices for being wrong handed.
The hammer has to be cocked for the shot. The gun is pretty user friendly except for the extractor, which has to be manually shoved in after each shot so the next round will chamber.

How much does it weigh?

Lefty, Eben sells a "ambidextrous" stock for it. Easier and probably cheaper than messing with the one you got. HTH, Dutch.

George,

Hysterical!

Moral: Never insult a gun until you make absolutely sure it doesn't belong to the guy you are talking to. Same could probably be said for Women, cars, bird dogs, children etc. [Big Grin]

Best Regards,

John,

Nah, I knew it was his. I saw him crow about it on another site, and thought I'd rag him a little. [Wink]

And you're right about people's kids; some are downright fugly! -

George
P.S. How the hell do you drink tsikoudia? We had some in Crete this summer, and it was AWFUL! It reminded me of the 'Italian ipecac', grappa. [Eek!]

George,
I don't know what it weighs. It sort of surprised me though that it is much lighter than it looks to be.

Dutch,
Thanks for the heads up, I sent an email to Eben to check on the price of an ambidextrous stock set.

John,
I figured ol' George was kidding me. Either that, or he lacks taste for fine firearms!~ (Joke)

what the heck kind of rifle is that? i've never seen one like that before this pic

Dutch
Curtis, it is a small frame falling block, based on a pistol action.

Really neat, tiny rifle for small calls. See eabco.com for more info. HTH, Dutch.

Whoa! What a doll! Tell me all about it, please.
I just got my Shotgun from Australia today. I've included a picture for you, but I really wish I had a better camera. The gun looks much better than the pic. Not a nice as yours to be sure!

That's a fine looking Martini, who did the engraving?

What caliber?
01 December 2002, 16:37
<Double D>
Don't know who did the engraving, I assume it was a factory job.

Here is my other Hollis rifle.
 -

This is a large action Martini that was destined to the scrap heap because it's bbl wasn't registered and it is missing the correct forearm.

I had the bbl destroyed by drilling out the chamber and rifling to make the bbl a bbl shroud. I will make a liner and return it to 450 musket #2.

I will then be obligated to return it to Africa so it can resume hunting.
