I just noticed an older posting on the AR double rifle forum that Hornady and Ruger may team up again and bring out another gun/ammo combination again: this time a No.1 in .450/400 with Hornady supplying the ammo! Have you guys heard anything about this?

I have a No.1 rebarreled to .450/400 3" and I love it. I just got tired of waiting for Ruger to see there would be interest in one. I do hope the diameter is .411 so I can use their bullets and ammo.

Has no one heard anything about this Ruger rumor? Or is it just that there is more interest in big bore single shots on the double rifle forum?

I have a hunch they shifted gears and selected the 9.3x74 instead.

I talked to folks at Hornday who said they were working on 450/400 brass & ammo. Implied project was with Ruger. This was after the 9.3 chambering had already been released. I'll check back with them and see if they'll say anything about status.
