All right, make fun of me get it out of your systems. Rossi has just come out with a new single shot rifle system they call the wizard, it works like the Encore currently available in 23 calibers/gauges. At less than $300 for the initial rifle can this be any good? Additional barrels are $175. The stock looks a little funky but I'm sure that can be remedied. How are the other Rossi products?

I`ve heard mixed reviews on them but when the right one comes along i`ll be getting one to.

I was thinking about an encore but these are 1/2 the price. I got my gun dealer getting me a firm price on a .308

I have not seen that one but did see the CVA break open rifle recently. It is not a switch barrel gun but is a nice, compact package that looks pretty good. I believe it is called the Scout but I may be wrong. Someone help me with this.
It was a black synthetic stock, stainless receiver and fluted barrel with scope mount. A pretty nice looking rig.

Its not the Wizard, but I bought a Rossi Trifecta a couple years ago, and have been happy with it. Its a 243/22lr/20ga all rolled into one easy to carry zip up case. Blued, green synthetic stock, with the 16" 243 barrel and scoped it weighs about 5 pounds. Shoots good with the right bullet, but is kinda picky. Its not pretty or fancy, but its not expensive either. I would try another of Rossis products given the chance.

The Rossi Wizard is a pretty good rifle, much sturdier and better quality than the previous model. The wood stock looks funky, but is very functional and fits very well. We've sold several at our store for $299 and everyone that bought them was very pleased and said they shot well. Don't know if these folks are looking for MOA or just minute-of-whitetail. For the money I think they're a great buy.
I'm thinking of converting one of the 45-70's to a smokeless MLer.

I think it has better lines than the Encore. Looks more like a rifle than a pistol with a stock.

Just got a quote from my gun shop for this gun in a .308 for $279 Plus Tax and back ground check so $315 out the door.

Placed the order today it'll be in Wednesday.

Idaho Sharpshooter, there are several guys around that can do the conversion. What they do is use a Savage smokeless Breech Plug, tap the chamber on the barrel of the 45-70, screw in the breech plug and headspace it, drop in 44 grs. of 5744 powder, poke a Hornady 200 gr. xtp down the barrel, 209 prime it and fire off about 2500- 2600 FPS. I just had an Encore 45-70 done, the conversion costs about $110 dollars. Excellent results!
