A Holland & Woodward at work, added pics
[IMG:top] [/IMG]

My H&H .375 Flanged Magnum came with on a Buffalo hunt this past October, I shot this old fellow so I could say I've used the rifle. He was a champion at brooming his horns, he has them both down to the core.

Congrats, that's a very nice photo of a great trophy with a really cool rifle.

Any more details/pics of the rifle? i.e. when was it built, is Woodward the maker,..?

Originally built by Holland & Holland. Records show delivered in 1898 to Havett as a .303.
I just found the action and had a barrel fitted. I made a new stock from a blank, did my best to stay true to the original style. I also did most metal and bluing but farmed out the checkering and engraving.
I should take photo's sometime.
Winfer claims that they only made about 140 of these.

Excellent!!
Good to see a Holland/Woodward out for a hunt.
I am a true fan of George Gibbs Farquharsons but the Holland Woodward is equally fine and more rare than Gibbs or Jeffery or Webley falling block rifles.
I'm jealous!

Wonderful to see that you brought it along and used it. I love single shots but I sometime hesitate to put them to use on hunts, wanting the comfort of knowing I have quick follow up shots should I need them. What a great rifle, would love to see more pictures of it.

Screws need to be colored and I'm undecided about recoloring the action. In the past, Bubba had given it a hot blue, thankfully he didn't use his buffer!

That's a keeper! It's great you took African game with it & added

another chapter to, what I'm sure, is an exciting history for that rifle.

Congrats again! Envious in Wyoming

Thanks all for the compliments.

BaxterB,
Sorry but I took no build photos. This Jeffery Farquharson is in need of a new stock, I plan to start by weeks end. I'll take some pics along the way;_ if I can manage to tidy up my workbench.
