bluepumarossi 7.62x39
looks like the Rossi Rifle is now chambered in 7.62x39, out of a 23" barrel, that has to be respected, AND affordable! I've been waiting for a gun like this.

wrongtargetThe Handirifle also is chambered in 7.62x39...
http://www.graybeardoutdoors.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=69445&highlight=sb2762It's also available as an accessory barrel #R03490 for $82+ fitting and shipping.
Another new caliber is the .500S&W.

JudgeGAre the NEF and Rossi .308 bore or the standard .311.
I have a CZ in 7.62x39 and it shoots poorly with .308 diameter bullets, but with .311 (Hornady), it is a 3/8ths inch rifle.
It would be nice for reloaders if they are .308 because there are so many available bullets!
Anyone know?

wrongtargetThe NEF is a .311 bore with a 1:9¾" twist rate. There's a bit of talk at GBO on rechambering it to .303 Brit and 7.62x54R, but no one has done it yet. The 7.62x39 NEF doesn't shoot milsurp well, some that have tried had a lot of misfires due to the hard primers.

I have a CZ 527 in 7.62X39mm, and it shoots well with .308" bullets. Also have an M1909 Argentine that does well with .308's! When it comes to using .308" bullets in a .7.62, 7.65, or .303, you never know if they will shoot OK or not until you try them.
CZ 527, 150 grain Sierra .308" handloads, bottom group.
7.65X53mm with 200-grain Sierras & Nosler Partitions with same powder charge.
