45-70 Load
Found a good load for my Ruger #1:
Black Lion 398 grain FNGC over 41 grains H4198 and Federal 215 (yes, magnum) primer. I haven't clocked it yet but velocity should be over 1700 fps.
Accuracy is good, and it burns very cleanly; no unburned powder and the cases don't get smudged.
The difference is the magnum primer.

I chrono'ed this load today and it averaged 1800 fps. Interestingly, zeroed at 50 yards it's also zero at 100, and drops 2" at 130.
This is going to be my standard load for this gun. [Cool]

Leo, that's really interesting! I once had a M70 Win.Featherweight in .308 that put both my 165-grain jacketed bullet deer load and a 170-grain cast-bullet practice load load that used 44 grains of H4831 into the same group @ 100 yards.
