I know of only 1 animal lost, in the 60 some years me, my father, and friends have been hunting. It was shot in an area called no bear vally, because, our camp is on one side of the vally, and there is a realy dense clump of alders on the other side, about 1/5 of a mile up the mt its a huge clump and so dense you cant see 10 ft. A friend of my fathers took a shot at a black bear walking in the middle of the valley, the round hit perfectly broad side, and flipped the bear over, he jumped up, and tore off for the alders, by the time he had another round in the bear was just entering the alders, and we waited almost 2 hours, he never came back out. We walked that damn patch of alders for 3 days, and we never saw him, the blood trail just stopped. Realy a shame to loose that bear, but it wasnt for lack of effort, we did all that was in our power to find him, but he was just GONE.

None, and I have had to shoot more than once at a couple of deer. If you practice, you can reload reasonably fast from a buttstock or wrist shellholder.

Just one -- sort of. It was shot at long range with
a .54 ML, and went about a half mile before
expiring just beside a ditch. It was STOLEN before
I tracked it to it's death bed!!! Out of several
dozen others, none have been lost. But then, the
aforementioned wasn't REALLY lost!!
