David Craig.50 WYM EXP.
I was thinking of getting a Sharps style rifle chambered in the .50 WYM EXP. to match my Freedom Arms pistol.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a sharps type rifle chambered in the .50 WYM EXP. and if so who would do the work.
Thanks

Weren't some of the old lever guns chambered for the 50 Winchester Express? I may be wrong...still on my first cup. Otherwise, what is a 50 WYM Express?

BTW, welcome to AR, Yogi!

syd-jai500 Wyoming Express is a .500 caliber handgun cartridge developed by Freedom Arms in Wyoming.
They chamber it in there single action revolvers. The unique thing about it is that it is belted case. Think of a short, belted, 500 S&W. There revolvers don't have room for a large rim diameter, so they went with a belt. Here is some more info:
http://www.freedomarms.com/What kind of pressure and bolt thrust can the Sharps rifles handle? Then what pressure is the 500 wyoming express loaded to?
I wonder what kind of steel the reproduction sharps are being made from?
The imports are Pedersolli, Uberti, Armi, ?? soem of those are listed Black powder only, so maybe they are only useing 1040??
How about C. Sharps, are they useing 4140?
