Cliff LyleYou'll have a ton of fun collecting bbls for this platform. I've had everything from .222 on up. Congrats.

GrumulkinAnother poor diseased soul and there is no organization like AA for you.

Bobby TomekAs others have mentioned, the TC game is an addictive one. Good luck with your new toy, and be sure and let us know how it shoots.

Went from Blasers where one barrel cost $850 to the whole rifle for less than $850.

GrumulkinThe Blaser is a fine rifle though pricey. Though the Blaser is accurate, you'll find the Encore to be just as accurate if not more so.

Actually with the addition of rimfires last year, everything from .17HMR up and they even have .204 now for the centrefires....even more to spend money on now...
Got another barrel today in 280 with a Nikon on it.
Doh! Here we go!

Cliff Lylehehehe...it's begun.
Funny story actually, I had bought a 375 JDJ barrel and then got home and realized it wasn't for a Encore. It was old enough it didn't say Contender on it.
So it's 100 miles to the gun shop and I wanted both the 280 and the 375 JDJ, so I took th3 375 told them what had happend and they gave me the 280 for $100 more.
The jdj had a Aetec on it and this one has a Nikon Monarch, so there is quite an upgrade there.
They have a custom 257 Weatherby barrel there, and I figure I need the following calibers on top of that 375 H&H, 338 Win, and maybe a 405 and 450 Marlin. And of course two shot gun barrels a slug barrel and a turkey barrel and we should be set. Probably another 2 receivers.

2 dogstry the heavy barrel 22-250,mine shoots one hole groups with 55 gr,and my 300 does it with 165s these guns just shoot.
congrats ,
my good friend has 3-28 inch pro-hunter barrels for his..22-250...708....270....they all shoot very well indeed.
regards and keep us posted.
Great, I was going to order a few PH barrels.
375, 338, 300, and I found a custom 257 Wby barrel that someone made and it's similar to the PH barrel.

homebrewerMy .223 Rem T/C is accurate, too. I'm a lefty and I was lucky enough to procure a lefty thumbhole set from E. A. Brown and Company last July or August. Looks damned nice...

recoilpadAmen to the T/C disease. I have it! I have lost count on the calibers I now have for the Contender and Encore. Fine rifles though.

kondorI thought I was the only one that is nuts. I just ordered a 25-06 Pro bbl to go with others. It isn't only bbls that are addictive. I am up to 4 frames and have to restrain myself when I see them for sale on Gallery on Guns. I thought all day about picking up the 224TTH bbl at MatchGradeMachine.com but finally set aside that thought for awhile. I want the blown out version if I get one.
So, welcome to TC world!

33806whelenI had an encore but I sold it as I didn't like the fact that it weighed so much. I have a G2 contender with a 17hrm, 30-30 and 45 cal ML.
5 1/2 pounds is a lot easier to carry than the 7 plus pound encore. I can't understand why they can't make the encore lighter. it's got no "action" to speak of.
I like the looks of the prohunter though, and may end up with another one!

Big 5 EncoresI'm also been infected by Encore-itus. I have a .375 Ruger, 45-70, .458 Win Mag, .470 Capstick, .454 Casull and 500 S&W Mag.
I'm working on a 450/400 and .470 Nitro...or maybe 450 Nitro and .416 Rigby...or maybe 416 Ruger and .500 Nitro.
I need all of these!!
