Gunsmith company info needed
I am looking for contact info such as a website or so for two different companies.

First is American Gun Company. I believe they make 1885 both low and high walls. They were just getting into making some low walls in some rimless varmit calibers. I found there webpage about 8 months ago but can't find it again.

The second is a gunsmith out of Michigan who makes replica Martini cadet actions. I believe his name is Bill Knapp?

Anyone who has info, please forward on to me.

Thanks.

Greg

Try this:

I believe this is an offshoot of the McGowen Rifle Co.

Try this site to find the gunsmith, he might be Robert Snapp, Calir, Mi. (Scroll down to near the bottom of the list.)

I don't think that is the company. The webpage is unfamiliar to me. The last time I was on the webpage, the had a section of upcoming low wall rimless rifles that they were introducing but hadn't come into production yet. That was what I was waiting for.

I originally thought it was the guy from Turnbull Restorations but that isn't correct.

That could be him. Makes a version of the martini cadet? I talked to him and he seems very easy to talk to about a project. Does he have a webpage? Any other contact info?

I had all this info stored on my laptop that went up in flames during a gopher hunt.

Thanks for the help guys.

The American Gun Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of McGowan Rifle Barrels, located in Kalispell, Montana.

I am not sure they ever actually got into production, though they had big plans. It could be that the recession has put everything on hold for a while.

Here is a link to a newspaper article from 2007 about the whole schmear....

http://www.dailyinterlake.com/...f8-15ed01441961.html

The site is relatively slow to load, so give it a bit of time. It IS an interesting story once it comes up on the screen.

If you want to find out what the current status is, I suggest calling the President of McGowan Barrels. He is also the President of The American Gun Company.

You must be in E or SE Alberta, with a handle like Alberta Coyote, eh?

My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

NW Alberta but hunted lots in the SE. Those dogs are the best this country has to offer!

That is not the site nor the company after looking at the webpage. I thought that was the name but it is not. I wish I could find them now.

Thanks Alberta Canuck. For the life of me I can't remember and I have googled and googled low and high walls in varmit calibers but cannot find anything.
