The last time I had any correspondence with anyone connected with the Wickliffe Rifles was with

Edward Medves
30708 Ronald Drive
Willowick, OH 44095

He was a very informative gentleman and had a good bit of parts at one time. I think he might have bought the remaining parts and the rights to the company but I'm not sure. What price range was the rifle you picked up? Hope this info helps. I would love to find one in 308 Win.

Hi all,
Usually hang out over on the cast bullet board so am a newcomer in here. About a month ago, I picked up a nice looking rifle at our local gun shop. It's made by Wickliffe in Ohio. Looks alot like a Winchester Hi-Wall kind of action and appears to be pretty well made. The thing is, it's in .30-06 cal. & I noticed also that the chamber seems to be a little on the small side in that my old dies, which worked fine in my Springfield, had to be replaced with some new RCBS to make the rounds chamber. The extractor seems a little on the small side. Haven't had the chance to shoot it yet as I've been too busy. Just wondering if anyone had any info on where to get parts in case I need them in the future. Looks to be a pretty nice rifle and hope to be able to shoot a few full-power loads in it from time-to-time although I bought it primarily as a cast bullet shooter. Any help would be appreciated.
P.S. I only get on this computer usually once a week, so if I don't respond right away, that's why.
Thanks,
Newtire (vs "Retread")

Small chamber is good. When I have an iron accurized I specify a minimum chamber. Makes for less variation by making the cavity just the size of the case with a minimum of clearance.

Haunt the single-shot and collectors forums if you don't get a response soon.

It's been a while since I heard the Wickliffe name. I don't think too very many were made before they disapeared from the scene. Personally, I've only seen one and it was in .308 Win. While they seem to be well built rifles based on, IIRC, a ballard action. I barely remember Elmer Kieth saying he thought they were a pretty nice rifle sometime back in the mid 1970s. I still kick myself for not buyiong yjay .308 when I had the chance.
