Idaho Sharpshooter
Take a once-fired case and drill the primer pocket out, to your chosen cleaning rod diameter plus .025" or so. Insert the case into the breech and run the rod thru it.

Hello, Bobby4211. As Idaho said..I too drill/ream out primer pocket for slip fit on rod. I also will solder or epoxy a brass bushing in case mouth for added rod guidence.
I have drilled out .22 L.R. case heads for this also..some of those extractors on the early single-shots..particularly the Ballard are both sharp and pointed! They will peel a coated rod like a banana first pass thru!

Thanks F224 I looked on Sinclair's site and some of their guides will work better on my No 1's and their TC guides will work for my break opens without having to drill a case for each caliber and at $8 they're cheap enough
