I am looking for a WINCHESTER 1885 in 45/70 I want the pistol grip stock, have found the foreign guns and the winchester with staright stock. Where is a good place to look. I know the imports are good guns but I want the winchester. New manufacture

The best ones are at Ballard Rifle Co. in Cody, WY or from Steve Meacham in somewhere, Idaho. After that, maybe C. Sharps Arms in Big Timber Mt.

Of course, I would rate an original Winchester pretty darn high - and I don't mean new manufacture. But, of the new made, American highwalls, those three are the best.
