New Single Shot for me
.

I finally found one of these the other day.
Browning 1885 in "Treinta-Treinta", as we
would say here in South Texas. These Mirokou
1885's have become a real favorite of mine.

Going to try it out with some Blue Dot loads
I got from "Bartsche" on thursday.

Yes, this rifle is in original condition. A lot
of the 1885 Brownings were turned out with very
nice wood.

Those are both beauties Martin.

I shot this group at 100 yards today.
Very nice shooting rifle. I will have
to rate it "keeper".

Congratulation dxr!
I´m reloading also a 165grs copper plated lead bullet with 18grs of N110 with the same results. Single shot´s and especial the High Wall, are my favourit rifles. From time to time, I´m thinking about a custom made rifle, based on a rebarreled Ruger #1. I´m thinking about an "Bavarian" round, the 8,15x46R. But I´m also thinking about the .405WCF #1-H. At the moment, I don´t know. Maybe, I should ask my wife? animal

Ahhh ! I just noticed you are on the other
side of the pond. I've used a lot of H&N
match pellets in my air rifles. Did not
know they made bullets as well. I don't
think there is any distribution in the US
on them. Too bad, a 165 plated would be
nice !

Chris,
send a e-mail to H+N. Maybe, they can tell you an dealer in USA. I mean, I don´t really know it, but Reimer Johannsen, the Mauser Magnum maker, have a bureau in USA. Here in Germany, he´s a great reloading equipment and bullet dealer. I´m buying nearly all at Johannsen. Maybe, he can help you.

I've never seen one in .30-30. How rare is that chambering??

Martin, that 8.15X46R is a nice cartridge for target & fun shooting. So is the .32/40, which is very similar in performance.

That is the gun I've wanted. Would rechamber to 30/40 Krag and be very happy. Currently hunt a 30/40 in a Ruger #3 and a 260 Rem in a low wall. Both shoot well but the low wall is easier to carry.
