I've owned two 1885's and I used Leupold on both. Solid design. Use med or high, the low ones don't give enough room for your thumb. Probably high is the best, and with the modern stock design with little drop, you can be comfortable looking through the scope.

I agree with MDstewart I have 1885 and two 78s all highwalls but I'm sure would be just as good on the low wall.
