Well how well did they group?...How long are the barrels on the 500 S&W Handi-rifles?...

I get 1½-2" 100yd groups with the 440gr CP bullet, velocity is right at 1900fps in Starline brass with Lil'gun, barrel is 22". Here's John Taffin's report on the 500 S&W Handi, he didn't get very good accuracy with most loads, but all he did was shoot it, sometimes they shoot good out of the box, sometimes they need a little tweaking.

I have not tried gouping it. But I'll be plenty happy if I can get around 4" at 100 since I will not be scoping it. The barrels are 22".

wrongtarget...that sounds like more fun than I can handle Eeker....but a heavy boolit around 1200 fps might be useful for close range smack down...

For even more "fun", try the 700gr Ranger Rick at a little over 1400fps!! That's a 440gr CP next to it.

Mine arent grouping very well either. I think I have a something with the 375 XPB at right around 1900. Plus they kick a bit less than the 440's at almost the same speed.

I plan on loading the 440 to under 1600. Maybe even 1200-1400. Should still drill a hole through any critter I may shoot with it.

Here is the 700 grain that killed a moose.

It does not look much different from a 375 XPB that killed a gravel and dirt backstop.

Hey, you fellas that have loaded and shot the 700-grain slug, what kind of accuracy do they yield?

That's certainly minute o' moose! No sign of tipping, either.
