Where might one find an old original butt-stock or even a duplicated butt-stock for a farg. Not interested in anything nice...if need be I can hand build the stock but would rather not. Thanks!

Barrel will be here this week...lots of work to do. Want to engrave this one and color case the receiver. Chambered in the 375 flanged nitro express 2 1/2".

Well got to put it on hold for now. Surgery next week is more involved than was expected...Cancer Sucks! It is a #2 action and when healed up getting right back to it. Thanks!

Have healed up long enough, I couldnt just set around any more. Been draw filing and sanding...just a few more things and we start the barrel work.

I know it's blurry...but it's the best I can get. Very small trademark or such on back of falling block. Anyone seen this before and can tell me what it is?

Pretty sure that is a Birmingham proof mark. I will have to take a look but I think most of my Brit falling blocks are stamped similarly to this.
Also, if you haven't decided on an engraver, consider John Todd. I wouldn't hesitate having him work on any of my English rifles.
My little Webley sure turned out nice and I have seen some of his other work - very, very nice for sure.

Thinking of turning the Farg. into a through bolt, yet leave a short screw there for the drop down of the lower trigger and all.

There are a lot of good engravers out there...study them to much and it starts to get confusing. What I wouldn't give to have one of Lynton McKenzie works. I love the English type but I also have a weakness for the bank note engraving and I haven't decided on what direction I want to go just yet with this project.

JT truly amazes me with his talent in engraving, especially considering he hasn't been at it long. In another five to ten years he could be one if not the best engraver in the US, his bulino needs to improve a bit more to get there. He'll be recutting the engraving on a Purdey I'm sending.

I love what you've got there and what I know the finished product will be!! Why not just go with the regular .375 H&H Flanged Magnum?

srtrax - great action and it sounds like a great project.

You have chosen a wonderful caliber. I have discovered that the rim thickness varies with different brass. The gunsmith who cut my chamber used cases formed from 9.3x74R brass.

I have fired two different lots of Kynoch ammunition, they varied by decades, and they fit so tight I had to give a really good pull on the lever to load and a strong tug to extract them. I have been throwing them out after firing because the extra tight fit is because the rims are a bit thick. When the little I have left is gone I will not be purchasing more.

I have also been firing Wolfgang Romey from Westley Richards. I think Westley Richards must like offering them because the headstamp is W-R. They are a much better fit in my action, still a little too snug but not bad. They reload fine but the "stickiness" doesn't go away. Again, it is because of the rim thickness. They are difficult to find, and costly. I have reserved what I have to use as the base line for my pressure tests.

Most of what I have been loading and shooting is Bertram cases. I know opinions vary about Bertram. But as far as the .375 FL NE 2-1/2" goes They have been wonderful in my rifle and a perfect fit. If If my chamber had been cut for an easy fit of the Kynoch it probably would probably would have been too loose for the Bertam.

You should consider the different rim thicknesses of available cases and ammunition when cutting your chamber and make sure the brand you want to use is on hand for testing.

I'm setting on a pretty good stash of Jamison brass. I'll be chambering this one myself, I'm sharing a reamer with Bill ( his reamer) and it was based on the Jamison brass if memory is correct. Thanks for all the info.
