MinkmanH&R/NEF Rifle/Shotgun Interchangability
Are the receivers on the new rifle/shotguns the same?
Are there heavy barrel blanks available to fiddle around with?
I saw barrels for the 32 guage shotgun are available, does anyone know if these will fit?
Thanks and Happy Holidays to all

wrongtargetThe rifles have an SB2 frame that is built of different material and hardened to handle rifle pressures up to the .270 win at over 60,000psi. The shotguns have cast SB1 frames and will handle only shotgun and pistol calibers or low pressure rifle calibers, ie; .30-30, .45-70. At this time, H&R is the only barrel source, the now defunct Marts Custom is no longer. More info can be found at the H&R web site or at the NEF/H&R forums at GBO...

MinkmanThanks WrongTarget,
Do you know how to find out the years they made the 32 gauge?
How about an 8 gauge, did they ever make any?
It's about time they let us use 8 bores again for waterfowl with the steel shot. I can't afford the newer version shells!

wrongtargetNot that I'm aware of since H&R was reborn as NEF/H&R. They won't do anything with barrels or frames built before 1987. Before that, it's very possible that some were built, but I'd guess that it was a loooong time before....
