Modern Browning & Win Low Walls & .22BPCRA Options
Those of you interested in the modern Browning or Winchester Low Walls & other options for .22BPCRA may be interested in the following article recently published in the July 2020 edition of The Single Shot Exchange magazine. For those of you that don’t subscribe, I just posted the article at http://www.texas-mac.com/Brown...ns_for_22_BPCRA.html.

Hmmm, never thought of the .243 as low pressure. I remember seeing a .260 on a dealer's wall, and couldn't see how Miroku managed it, given the originals certainly can't take such a cartridge. I figured the "walls" mustn't be as low as the originals, and in looking at your photos, it does appear the breech support is about a 1/4" higher. I'm still surprised it works. With it's tapered octagon, it's certainly a beauty.

I expect that the metal the modern receivers are made from is significantly stronger than that used on the original Low Walls, but I don't know that for a fact.
