The 78 was replaced by the 1885, but that hasn't been made for a few years .The 1885 is a fine rifle and hopefully they'll bring it back. But I've got mine !

I've seen Browning B78's on gunsamerica.com, gunbroker.com or auctionarms.com. I have one B78 in 22-250rem with a heavy round barrel. I just wish the triggers were on par with the M1885 trigger. Just my thoughts.

I have a 6mm Browning 78 and it is the sweetest shooter and my favorite texas whitetail rifle, it has delivered 100% drop them in their tracks performance with the 95 gr Nosler bullet. It is also the sexeist looking rifle with the octagon barrel.

Supposedly Winchester will eventually bring the 1885 back under their own name, rather than the Browning banner. So far the only ones they have done were some rimfire Low Walls and a limited run of Traditional Hunter High Walls in various calibers {including .405 & .38/55} for Davidsons. Hopefully they'll bring back the standard 1885s in some additional chamberings. I still kick myself for not snapping up one of the Low Walls in .260......

I have a .243 B-78 I am selling. Asking $750 shipped. It has the octagon barrel and comes with Browning mount and rings.
