Hobie.25-35 or .41 Rem Mag Loads
Anyone have favorite loads, bullets, etc. for either of these cartridges?

HobieOk, how about loads for just the .25-35?
Hi I don't have a lot of loads but for my uncle's old Winchester I load 23 grs of IMR 3031 and a 117gr hornady RN. He has no problem with Pennsylvania deer and black bear.

Jameisterwhat do you want to shoot with your 25/35?
what bullet weights?
I have an old Merkel combination 20 gauge and 25-35. just started a few loads, and it is a definite fungun to shoot, although the short shotgun barrel is a real handicapper for doves here in arizona. TOok it javelina hunting , but alas, none to shoot at...
what do you want to hunt with it?

HobieJameister,
Well, I got it to have a .25 (and I like the old rimmed cartridges). You can see the "Shooting with Hobie" blog (link below) as I just posted a long note on this Contender barrel.
My question was general because I wanted general answers. I like shooting this barrel so I'd like to develop some loads for it. First thing it will do is coyotes and groundhogs. I figure it should be good for a wide range of game from rabbits and squirrels to turkey to groundhogs, to coyotes and maybe the odd deer (which I tend to see up close or not at all).
BTW, I've got a 20" barreled H&R 12 ga. Topper (it has a Lyman adjustable choke) I carried all over when I was in the Army. It has taken dove, quail, grouse, and I'm taking it turkey hunting this spring. I've also shot skeet and trap with it (less the doubles). The short barrel is not a handicap except it is easy to stop the swing if you don't concentrate.
Thanks for responding.
