JohnDLOff to Africa with a Model 10!
I'm leaving Saturday for a 21 day safari in Tanzania. I had never even shot a single shot rifle until recently buying a Dakota Model 10 in 300WM. Beautiful little gun with a Swarovski 3x9 scope. It is so light, its like carrying around an M-1 carbine. I was surprised that it shoots 5/8" groups with Barnes TSX, right out of the box. That was enough for me to decide to take it. Plan to use it for everything up to eland. I'm still getting used to quick reloading, but I'm anxious to go.

Rick ROne of the rifles I took to RSA in 04 was a #1 in .405. Just seemed "right" puttering around on the African continent with a single shot.
My advise to you would be take your single shot rifle and a fully auto camera

Take 100 pictures for every shot you take and then post several for us to drool over when you return.

Good Luck
Rick
