lubbockdaveRuger #3/#1 scope help (again)
will the bushnell 3200 provide enough eye relief to be used on a Ruger #3 and a Ruger #1? and how does the 3200 compare to the Leupold VX-II or VX-I?
thank you
Dave

NH_HunterI doubt it. A Leupold VX2 2-7x33 would be much better. I think the vx1 could pull it off as well.

tom ga hunterit should the scope is longer, i do not have a vari x1 but the 3200 has about the same eye relief as a 2.5x8 varxiii.. i use either varix111's in 1.25x5 or and old long tube 4x on m1's..if tou want a higher power scope look at the bushnell 4200.. they are much bigger than leupolds and the 1.75x6 & 2.5x10 are actually very good scopes fpr the money..

chestspringsSix months ago, I took a Leupold 4 X 16 Vari-111 off my #1, Rem 6mm, & put on a Bushnell Elite 4200, 4 X 16. Just to "shoot & play" with because I keep hearing that the 4200's don't have enough eye relief. I don't have any problem with the eye relief. I intend to put the Leupold back on as it's more compact, as this is my "deer" rifle.
I also took off another Leupold 4 X 16 Vari-111 on another #1 Rem 223. I put a Bushnell Elite 4200, 6 X 24. I really like this set up & intend to keep it there. Again maybe my "neck, or physical features" are really different from the people who say -"not enough eye relief" , but I have not problem with eye relief. My brother-in law just put a Bushnell Elite 4200, 4 X 16 on his #1, 25-06 (my influence). He likes it also.
