gohip2000win m70 2 piece bottom to one piece
Would switching the two piece bottom to a one piece help accuracy?
What are the advantages of the one piece that everyone seems to want?

MasteriflemanMy personal opinion is that when using a three screw-2(actually 3) Piece guard takes more care in setting the tension on the guard screw just forward of the trigger bow. I have actually seen Model 70's bound up so that you couldn't open the bolt when that screw was tightened.
The 1 Piece guard by Williams Firearms (and others) uses only the front and rear screws, the floorplate being pinned to the front of the guard. These not only look better but eleviate the pssibility of "bowing" the action.
I have the Williams "Oberndorf" style on my two Model 70's and would never go back to a three piece guard.
