Winchester '92 takedown with goat on left side. I am starting the other side which is a big horn. The rifle will be lightly scrolled with an open scroll style that some prefer on vintage Winchesters.

I can't help but notice that Roger doesn't exaggerate dimension like so many other engravers tend to do... I've seen renditions of Elephant that must be carrying 800 lbs of ivory...you get the idea

Beautiful Roger. Would somthing along those lines work on the top of a 1911 slide? Would the gold hold up?

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

Engraving can make or break a nice gun, but done well is a joy to look at. Very nice work, the eyes are right on, I would think that would be the hardest part of the animal!

Thanks guys, glad you like it. I thought I had the sheep all worked out, but I need to find an art print. The goat was off of a photograph, but it's much easier working off of a print.

Great stuff Roger thumb

Aside from the great looking critter, the even border width really shows your ability to control your gravers.

It's amazing to me you can get that much detail into the face. I had to really look at it before I believed it was engraved. excellent work

D Humbarger,

I've yet to lose an inlay. Doesn't mean it couldn't happen. Knock on wood.

Lol.
I didn't put it there...honest!

It's the screwhole for the cartridge lifter.

It'll look better once the rifle is together with screws installed.
