M-70 extractor
I am told to get rid of the stock claw extractor spring on my m-70....
But the guy could not think of the name of the co. to get a replacement.
And why do they need to be replaced???

Unsure which M-70 you have, but later made "classics" has a Williams extractor. It's easy to identify, if you're unsure look on his web site.

If you're having issues with yours and it is a Williams unit, it may have never been adjusted. Mr. Williams can correct me if I'm wrong, but to the best of my knowledge no one at the Winchester plant adjusted his extractors during assembly. I don't think they knew how and they merely stuck them in as he shipped them. I do believe the only correctly install units were the ones on the FN(M70) rifle. Mr. Williams has good instructions on his site to adjust the extractor for correct tension.
