Austin HunterGRS stock vs modified Boyds Pro Varmint
Per my post in the Big Bores forum I'm having cervical fusion next week and am planning for a heavier, ergonomic stock. I'm going to start with my 308 Win Tikka.
I've looked at two options:
1. GRS stock - either a laminate or their Beserker - and then add a fully adjustable Graco buttplate to get rotation. Though, maybe I could adapt their adjustable height buttplate to rotate as well.
2. Boyds Pro Varmint Stock - add Graco comb hardware and the fully adjustable buttplate.
Thoughts? #2 would be less expensive and perhaps more adjustable.
I also plan to add a suppressor to it for recoil reduction (in addition to noise).
Thanks!

Big Wonderful WyomingI have had a couple of GRS stocks, and a few from Boyd.
I will own more GRS stocks.
The Berserker is nice as it is fairly light.
I have also taken a liking to chassis systems. The KRG is probably my favorite. Honestly though the chassis is 100% less comfortable than the GRS.

df06I have had two Boyds, one about 10 years ago and one two months ago.
I think they are a great value and may buy more.
