Oscar MakonkaRe: Storing rifles, recoil pad distortion
Simple, store them the proper way with the barrel down. Not only will it save your recoil pad it also prevents dust getting in the barrel, any oil in your action or barrel will drain down and away and not be as likey to soak into the wood as when stored butt down.

Dago RedHey all, noticed recently that the Kick-eze, which is a softer than other's pad, on one of my rifles is getting shoved out of shape from standing the rifle up while stored. I haven't checked because I don't want to upset myself, but am betting this is happening to other rifles in my safe as well.
Other than building a vault later that will allow me to store them horizontally, is there something I can do to prevent this?
thanks.

nopride2I store my guns muzzle down, barrels wet with Break Free. I place the muzzles in chair cups to catch anything that comes out of the muzzle.
