WoodhitsM-2 Carbine Problem
My dad recently acquired (legally, of course) a USGI M-2 carbine.
On the first round, it fired out-of-battery (or, it came out-of-battery prematurely). Blown case, flying brass, bleeding face, the works. He took it to a local smith who replaced the extractor. He tried it again and it did the same thing, this time blowing the mag out of the gun. He lives several hours away so I'm not able to inspect the gun in-person.
I don't want him to get hurt, or to ruin a $7k transferable piece of history. Can anyone recommend a smith/armorer who specializes in these or know of a solution? He is in Florida but not opposed to shipping the gun. This is beyond my capability.
Thanks

WoodhitsHe is a deceased veteran, we purchased it from his widow. The gun was amnesty-registered and then transferred to my dad upon the sale.
