bluecollar375H&H feeding problem
I have a 375 H&H Remington Custom shop gun that is left handed that I bought used. My problem is that when you chamber a cartrige from the magazine 2 pop up instead of one. Not exactly what you want in a gun designed for dangerous game

Anyway I have bought a new follower from Remington and it didn't seem to make a difference. I installed a new magazine spring and still no luck. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be??
Thanks in advance

GeorgeSDoes it do it on every round, or only from a full magazine?
George
P.S. If you wanted a LH .375 for dangerous game, you should have gotten a Sako (push-feed) or an M-70 (controlled-round feed).

bluecollarGeorge,
It does it with every round. I even put the 375 cartridge in my 280 and it only feeds them one at a time. I am baffled, I noticed that the recievers are cut different between the 2 but I guess this is normal due to the taper of the 375.
Thanks,

The magazine box is wrong or is put together wrong. The lips of the mag box determines how a cartridge is held in a Remington. It sounds like it has a standard caliber box in it. They're not as wide as those for the belted mags.
BTW-- The Model 700 could not be considered a DGR, no matter the caliber.

bluecollarThanks for the reply, I never considered the magazine box as being wrong. I did purchase the gun used and tried it at the range, only loading 1 round at a time so didn't noticed the problem until I was in the field hunting elk. I don't use the gun for dangerous game, just for the larger animals that the northwest has to offer.
Thanks again
