I got a piece big enough to do 2 or 3 caps from this guy. The entire block was coated in wax. It was very dry, had a very black color to it and he shipped fast. I paid $15 for the block.

I put a zebrawood tip on my 458. I think it looks great. Zebra is strong and heavy thats why it is used in recurve bow handles. I find it can splinter when working it. But maybe the stuff Ive used was kiln dried. I think it would make an unigue stock. But I would laminate it like the Serengetti stocks.

tonto,
i am currently finishing a zebrawood stock for a ruger number one. it does look neat and not everyone owns one. hopefully it will be done in a few weeks. i will try to post pictures.

I would like to see the pictures when you are done! Zebrawood is my favorite next to cocobola. I always wanted one of the early Martin super diablo bows. (zebrawood and rosewood) How did the zebrawood behave when shaping?
