Anyone come across one of these safeties?

I saw one just like it on gunbroker....

I ran across the same listing on the auction site, and had the same question myself. There seems to be some wrighting on the side of it, just wish I could read it, need better pictures.

I believe the bottom line reads PAT PEND but I cannot make out enough of the top line to figure it out.....

I have never seen this safety in all my years. Surely someone knows who made this safety. I would like to see the parts.
