Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model 1903
Does anyone know what replacement front sight can be used on a Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model 1903 factory sight ramp, I don’t know what dovetail and height the factory sight is supposed to be.

This is for the commercial full stock carbine, not the military rifle.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Mannlicher collectors' association used to be a good source. http://www.mannlicher.org/contact - plenty of US contacts there

They are less active these days. Tom used to be good at replying to emails. His website is no longer visible to me.

Erik Schroder (sp) in Austria was a guru but not sure if he is active or his son. A while back I tried to contact them but no luck.

http://www.mannlicher.org/links - Erik's website link leads to one in German ....

I guess you might have to hunt around for an older experienced gunsmith who has worked on such rifles.

Have you lost your old foresight or do you want a different height sight for lighter bullets?

The original rifles were usually sighted in for 156 gr or 160 gr RN bullets and any 140 gr spitzer bullet will shoot very high.

BTW you can get CNC machined split bridge rings for the 1903 action from Watts Walnut in the US.

Good luck.
