Springfield 1911 A1 site adjustment question
I have a new 1911 A1, the rear sight is not set far enough to the right causing it to shoot to the left.

How is the adjustment done, by a press (since it appears to be a press fit or a shrink fit) or by tapping it with a hammer?

Thanks Dave

There are sight adjustment tools available, BROWNELLS sells a few different kinds...the down side is that they are very expensive...some running more than the cost of the gun. You can use a BRASS drift and LIGHTLY tap it. Be careful and try and do this at the range as it takes VERY LITTLE movement of the rear sight to change point of impact. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. That was what I was thinking but needed a sanity check.

You CAN do it either way, but I prefer the sight pusher, since it seems to givre you a little more control over HOW MUCH you move it at a time.
