Cheap Bore Scope Photos

These photos were taken by a very cheap bore scope from Amazon.

I think it cost about $50.

These are of a brand new Sako 75 rifle in 375H&H.

Is that a Teslong? I picked up one of those recently and have been very impressed with how well it works. Also quite interesting what some bores actually look like and if your cleaning regime is as good as your think it is.

Doing stuff like this is like volunteering to get an MRI so the techs can build protocols...a bad idea. It just plants too many “what if” questions in your head...especially if they don’t let you see your scans...best to keep your head in the sand and stay sane ...;-)

Interesting- most Amazon type (Chinese) borescopes have a focus depth which is too long. I.E. you will not be able to see rifling with a 90 degree lens. Depth of focus is THE factor when searching for a scope to view your barrel internals.

The bore of your rifle looks very good for an off the shelf model, and the scope has pretty good clarity also.

I disagree. I think it depends on how anal you are about this type of thing. Personally I don’t care so much as long as it shoots, and I’ve had some terrible bores shoot quite well.

I bought one of these Teslong scopes and it has been fascinating to look at the bores on a few on a few of my rifles. Each bore tells an interesting tale.

Having said that, I think that barrel makers and gun smiths are going to hate these $50 bore scopes.

Will someone please translate this statement (part of the product description): "In order to avoid the inside of the probe to be damaged by the tightly winding and excessive benting, the new package adopts bigger case and it won't contain the portable bag."

Mine just quit working the other day. Used it in the morning, tried a couple of hours later and the computer no longer sees it. The LEDs work but no image. I sent Teslong an email but they are closed until after the Chinese New Year. It should still be under warranty.

My translation: The bore scope comes in a large box to avoid the flexible cable being bent too much. We no longer provide a storage bag.

The bore scope has a flexible cable and they don't want you to coil it too tightly.

If you look at the thread that Shootaway started you might disagree. He has pictures of a high dollar barrel that has inclusions throughout.

My guess is that this barrel and others like it will shoot very well but the fact that the inside looks poor will cause the buyer to be unhappy and this will cause headaches for the barrel makers.
