Arctic GunOver boring a shotgun...
Does over boring a 12 gauge shotgun to 10 gauge dimentions really improve shot pattern, distance, and accuracy? Or is someone just pulling my leg?

al1I have shot some barrels that were over .800 bore but at that bore you need a realy soft wad for them to work well and they don't like real cold weather. They Do shorten the shot string quite a bit and gives a nice flatt dense pattern and pretty soft recoil when they are that big.
Personally a .750 bore IMHO is the practical limit. and is large as you typically see in a target gun. Now I am speeking only of target guns. Skeet, Trap, Sporting etc. I don't deal to much with the performace in the field.
One company that buids 12ga. barrels of the mega bore variety is a company called Money Maker they are pretty popular in the trap comunity.

bounty hunteronly the pattern in my experience. about .740 is all that you want to realistically overbore.
