ted thorn5 MM Rimfire Re-Barrel Help
I own an old late 60's early 70's Remington bolt action in 5mm rimfire can I re-barrel in 22 mag or 17 HMR? If not what do I do with this gun I dont want to spend the bucks to buy vintage ammo.

fireball1685mm Craig....supposedly the "smallest" centerfire cartridge available. And you don't need a new barrel, just a bolt modification.
http://www.rvbprecision.com/articles/articles.php?a=7Here's the people that sell the conversion kits for the bolt, brass and dies....
https://www.eagleviewarms.com/catalog/I haven't done it yet, but keep thinking about converting ours.

wildcat junkieSchroeder Bullets out of San Diego has IMO the best conversion, it uses a new bolt head. You can keep the old one for collectors value, and he will ship within days.
I have one, 33gr Hornady Vmax @ 2450fps. 1/2" 5 shot groups @ 100yds, 1 1/4" groups @ 200yds.
Really makes a "SMACK" when it hits a groundhog.
PM me if you want more info.

Quarter RoundI would convert it to centerfire or sell it to a person looking for one to convert. I have the Eagle View conversion and can switch it back to rimfire if Remmington started producing the ammo. The
Saubier Small Caliber Forum has several threads concerning the 5mm or .204.
