Trigger for Remington 700 Classic
I have just purchased a new (unfired) 700 Classic in 264 mag. Although the trigger is good (not great), I am spoiled by my CZ set triggers. Does anybody make a set trigger replacement for the Remington trigger? If so, does it involve major mods to get it to work? Thanks for any and all help with this.

I'd go for a timney....direct replacement for the factory unit. Though not a set trigger it works quite well in my 7-08 Classic. [Wink]

Gary, I'm not familiar with either one, but I think that Canjar and Kepplinger single set triggers are available for 700. I'm sure someone who's more knowledgeable about it will chime in and confirm or deny this.

One thing I will say is that I had a Shilen trigger installed in my 700 Classic (300 H&H) 2 years ago, and even though it's not set trigger, it breaks so clean it'll take your breath away. The trigger pull is easily adjustable, and their standard model can be safely adjusted to under 2lbs if you wanted it that low. Just a suggestion.

If you're not scared by the whole Remington trigger safety issue you can just remove te assembly and send to neil Jones for a tuneup. He does great work and it costs about $50 with shipping last time I did it.

OTOH, if you want to replace the whole trigger to make the gun safer, go for it.

Thanks much for the responses. I went to Brownell's site...found all three triggers mentioned here. I think I may go with either the Timney or Shilen...both appear to be easy to install and a significant upgrade. I appreciate the help.
