A couple of remington 700 stock questions
Thinking of changing the stock on my 700 SPS 243 but need to check a couple of things:-

What does an BDL style SA synthetic stock weigh?

Is the barrel profile on the 700 classic the same as a 700 SPS/stainless synthetic?

What does a 700 classic wood stock weigh?

More simply will my barreled action fit and how much more will it weigh?

Also could get a 700 titanium take off stock - what are these like?

I have no idea on the weights, but the SPS in 243Win will have a normal "sporter profile" with a ~.625" muzzle diameter.

You should be careful on getting a "classic" or "titanium" stock, as in either case you could have a more open barrel channel....

the RSAUM and WSM calibers all use a slightly fatter "Magnum" profile.
In the titanium rifle EXCEPT for the WSM/RSAUM calibers all
calibers use a slimmer "Mountain rifle" profile with a .550" muzzle diameter.

So in most cases you'll need to do some adjustments to the
barrel channel inletting.

I think people get too wrapped up in lightweight rifles.
If you really NEED to save a bit of weight cut out the cheese burgers.
