congomikeI would "degrease" the crack and surrounding area and then use AcraGlass. If you are careful you will only have a little bit of sanding to do and ebony is pretty easy to finish.

ShopCartRacingYes, you are much better off glassing it, plus you can dye the AcraGlas black and when finished you will never be able to tell there was ever a crack.

DavidReedI use cyanoacrylate (super glue) that I get from a musical instrument supplier. You can get it in black and most come with needle tips for application. I think that Lee Valley and Garrett Wade also carry similar products. The brand Hot Stuff also has solvents made for tropical woods to improve adhesion.

CustomstoxIf you use epoxy resins or glues you can also dye them black by adding lamp black (hard to find) or some left over carbon from a printer cartridge (the large kind that is 8 to 10 inches wide). Mix it in with the resin and you will not see the crack (or a glue joint) when done.

Absolutely...degrease with Acetone, and Brownells offers both brown and black dyes for their acraglass epoxies.
Have at it.
