BigEdSynthetic stock for long action Sako
Your assistance and input would be helpful here. I recently bought a half done project consisting of a rebarrelled Sako AIII .30/06. Now I need a stock. In synthetic stocks, choices seem to be MacMillan, MPI, and Bell & Carlson. What would your choice be for a lightweight synthetic stock for a Sako? Are there alternatives I am not considering? Thanks, Ed.

GeorgeSBigEd,
I have a McMillan on my Sako .338, and I'm very happy with it.
Brown Precision makes a lightweight stock, too. I have two of their stocks on a pair of Remington 700s.

BigEdThanks to all for your help. Does anybody know how to contact Brown Precision? Do they have a website? Thanks again, Ed

<Jordan>Brown Precision inlets for the Sako AIII. They are in Los Molinos, California. The area code is 530. I think the number is 530-383-2506. You will need to confirm that. Their blank sells for about $220.00. You can finish it yourself (fill pin holes, bed, install recoil pad, paint with Zolatone, whatever). Makes for a fun winter project.
