recontouring barrels
does anyone here recontour sporter weight barrels to the same contour as the Douglas (and Winchester) featherweight barrel?

If so please PM me with details.....It's a .270 Winchester BTW

I can, but I always recommend customers buy the appropriate contour barrel that they want. It usually winds up costing around the same as a new barrel (such as a douglas).

This especially applies to thin contour/featherweight barrels.

Of course, that is just me, there may be others here that have different opinions/practices.

I buy Mauser actions, parts, micrometers, tools, calipers, etc. Specifically looking for pre-WWII Mauser tools.

I had a Factory 338 Ruger Stainless that I decided I needed to have turned down to make the rifle lighter. Yep made it lighter and took a SUBMOA rifle to almost a 2MOA. Accurate enough for a hunting rifle. Decided after than if I needed another contour I would start over.

As usual just my $.02
