Making progress - whittling an O/U stock
I don't do much showoff pics here - I mostly look and learn - but here's some of a Miroku I'm restocking from a blank. I thought you guys might like the template made from a clearish plastic container lid. I left the stock cheek about 1/8" long while I was rough shaping the grip and stock, then used the template to finish the cheeks off sharply.
Trying to keep the wood a bit proud

Bill SovernsNice work! I like that radio too!! Heathkit???
Zenith, an early 50's tube AM FM with 3 speakers. You can see the CD (Civil Defense) station locations marked on the AM dial in the pic. It's a very good radio, and the NY Mets play better when I listen to their games in the shop. I think I better listen to some games soon, they're doing their usual slide toward the cellar.

Man are you showing your age. Built my little (big took 6 ds) Heath kit AM radio in 1966 I believe. Took 3 weeks to determine I had a resistor or something in backwards.
Stock is looking very nice.

Bill SovernsIm only 37....but...my Dad built several Heathkits. Matter of fact if they were still in business I would be building them now.
Okay....back to the topic of this thread. Sorry to hijack it.
No hihacking issues here
