Is there anyone here who knows or can direct me to where I can find out the year of manufacture of the subj. gun with ser #79xxx? Rifle is in 270 Win w/24 in. bbl. A friend just received this gun from his deceased grandfather. Thanks.

A M70 with that serialization was made in January of 1948. This is from Rule's book.
