I need a front barrel band and front sight for a savage m/24c series P. I have tried several gun parts supply houses with no luck. Any ideas?

Not sure how much you want to spend, or if you need to keep it 'factory original,' but if you just want a front sight and barrel band, look at NECG Masterpiece front sights, and Talley barrel mounted swivels. They come in many sizes, and the bands are easily sized with a ballpeen hammer. Total cost for both would be less than $100, from Brownells.

Numrich doesn't have any. I think I may go with your other idea though. I bought the gun as a project and now I see why they sold it rather than fix it.
