<Norwester67>Charles Daly Mauser actions
Would the C.Daly mini mauser action be a good one to make an accurate rifle say compared to a Rem. or Win.

jeffeossoit's the same action as the old Mark X.
A little rough (NOT as rough as the non-peep sight cz602) but will make a nice rifle, with a little work.
Nicest thing about this one is that it's a "true" 98 action, with replacable trigger!!

<DLS>Isn't the Charles Daly mini mauser action a push feed?

CustomstoxA friend ordered two of them in .223 some time ago and has been told there is an embargo on them.
This was copied from their web site:
Mauser Rifle Update: We regret to inform you that deliveries of our entire Mauser rifle line have been temporarily halted and will only be resumed after the US Congress passes legislation establishing normalized trade relations between the US and Yugoslavia. There is currently a bill in congress, HR-4478, that will accomplish this, hopefully before the end of October. For further information, please see our August 2002 eNewsletter and write your Representative today urging quick passage of this bill.
Well since October has come and went I would not put anything down on these.

StonecreekYes, the Mini Mark X is a push feed and not a controlled feed. To my knowledge, the tariff status has not been reconciled and Charles Daly cannot import the Zastava actions without a prohibitively expensive tariff, so they are still unavailable. Too bad, they're a neat little action and rifle.

<RVB>Do yourself a favor and just buy a CZ American and rechamber it as you want. For $450 you get a great action with controll round feeding, a set trigger with an 8 oz let off in the set mode, integral scope bases, scope rings, detachable box magazine, a great stock and out of the box accuracy you need to witness to Believe! You can't beat it with a stick!
